The Gyrokinesis® Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath and mental focus.
The Gyrokinesis® Method is practiced on a mat and chair, without equipment. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis® class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.
Peggy returned to the US in 2010 after over 20 years in Europe. She had been introduced to both Pilates and GYROTONIC® methods whilst living in Brussels, Belgium and training with Master Trainer Kelly McKinnon of Corpus Studios.
In 2007, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent radiation therapy amongst other treatments. It was during this period that her interest in GYROTONIC® exercise really flourished as she saw the profound impact that the method had on her recovery.
She became a GYROTONIC® Level 1 licensed instructor in 2018 and is licensed in both the US and South Africa, where she spends 3 months of the year. She is currently training in the GYROKINESIS® method to enable her students to be able to “pack their practice”. She loves sharing her experiences and the potential of this system with others.
